SKIING
Cameron has practically been on skis all his life. He learned
to ski in Montana, at age 5 and hasn't stopped since. Due to
his fathers position with the Forest Service, he had the unique
opportunity to grow up in several ski towns throughout the
west. Being fortunate enough to have the resorts "in his
backyard", enabled him to continuously hone in on his
skills
In 1986, Cameron moved from Taos, New Mexico back to one of
his favorite mountain towns, Jackson Hole, Wyoming. During
the summer, he interviewed for a ski instructor position, with
what was then a very new and young ski resort in Park City.
Cameron was one of the first 50 instructors to teach at Deer
Valley Resort.
Upon returning to Jackson Hole for the summer, he began his
apprenticeship as an alpine climber under the guidance of the
legendary Yosemite pioneer, Chuck Pratt. With Chuck Pratt's
guidance and mentorship, Cameron was able to reach new heights.
He blended his skill set of his two favorite sports, climbing
and skiing to fulfill his lifetime goal of skiing from the
summit of America's most famous peak, the Grand Teton; arguably
one of the most difficult ski descents in the lower 48 states

Concord, California at Rock City's, Mt. Diablo State Park.

BIKING
In 2000, Cameron participated in LOTOJA
one-day bike race from Logan, Utah to Jackson Hole, Wyoming;
Cameron placed 2nd with a time of 8hr 59min 32 sec. This European
style bike race is officially the longest sanctioned one-day
bike race in America, which tours through three Rocky Mountain
states. LOTOJA began 1983 with only 6 riders and continues
to grow with over 700 riders in September's 2002 race. Undoubtedly,
the biggest draw is the course itself offering a picturesque
route full of dramatic scenery. |
